Terms of Service
These terms cover the SerpResult API, the dashboard and this website.
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Placeholder document. This text describes how SerpResult intends to operate and is not yet a legally reviewed agreement. It will be replaced before general availability. If you need binding terms today, write to [email protected] first.
1. The agreement
By creating an account, calling the API, or using this website, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and any organisation you are acting for. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
"Service" means the SerpResult API, the dashboard, the documentation and this website. "You" means the account holder.
2. Accounts and keys
You are responsible for everything done with your account and your API keys. A secret key is shown once at creation and stored only as a hash, so it cannot be recovered later. Keep it out of client-side code and version control, and rotate or revoke it from the dashboard the moment you suspect it has leaked.
Usage under a key is attributed to the account that owns it, including usage you did not intend. We may suspend a key that is being abused or that appears to be compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break any law that applies to you or to us;
- collect personal data about individuals from search results;
- resell raw responses as a competing search results API;
- deliberately circumvent rate limits, credit accounting, or the demo limit on this website;
- attack, overload or probe the Service or the infrastructure behind it.
Results come from third-party search engines. Their content belongs to whoever published it, and you are responsible for using it in a way that respects their rights.
4. Credits and billing
Usage is metered in credits. One search costs one credit, whether the answer came from a live fetch or from cache. A request rejected for an invalid parameter costs nothing; a search that the upstream engine failed to answer is charged, because the retrieval was attempted.
Pricing and packaging are still being finalised. Nothing shown on the pricing page is a published price, and no charge is taken until pricing is live and you have accepted it.
5. Availability
The Service is provided as it is, without an availability commitment. We do not promise uninterrupted service, a particular latency, or that any specific engine, country or query will return results. Upstream search engines change without notice, and some of those changes reach you.
We may change, limit or withdraw parts of the Service. Where a change breaks an existing integration, we will give reasonable notice through the documentation or by email.
6. Your data
What we store, why, and for how long is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: we log the parameters of each call so usage and errors can be accounted for, and we cache responses so a repeated query does not repeat the work.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, SerpResult is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Changes and termination
These terms may change. Material changes will be announced before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
9. Contact
